DOCTOR OF COMMISSIONER SERVICE - 1999
Ross House

1.Submit an application as a candidate for Doctors Degree, indicating the following:

a. Current primary registration as a member of a Commissioner Staff

b. Previously earned a Master's Degree in Commissioner Science

c. Signature of the District commissioner or Service Team Chairman, and

d. Acceptance by the Doctoral Committee

2.Complete a thesis/project approved by Doctoral Committee

3.Complete the following:

  • DCS 600 - PLENARY SESSION
  • DCS 604 - COMMISSIONER GROWTH PROJECT (THESIS) WORKSHOP
  • DCS 605 - PROGRAM SESSION/FACULTY DEVELOPMENT
  • DCS 608 - ADVANCED COMMISSIONER LIFE SAVING
  • DCS 610 - PREVENTING COMMISSIONER BURNOUT
  • DCS 620 - COMMISSIONER ADMINISTRATION

DCS 600 - PLENARY SESSION

DCS 604 - COMMISSIONER GROWTH PROJECT WORKSHOP.
4 hours - Presenting Paper. This course is for those who feel they need more help getting started on or completing their project.

DCS 605 - PROGRAM SESSION.
1999-2000 Viking Council program year.

DCS 608 - ADVANCED COMMISSIONER LIFE SAVING.
Administrative commissioners are taught to give leadership to a commissioner lifesaving concept. Also guides selected districts in setting up the lifesaving team approach.

DCS 610 - PREVENTING COMMISSIONER BURNOUT. Covers types of burnout and how to prevent or correct it to maximize effective commissioner tenure. Includes valuable tips on time management and refers to several aspects of 14 commissioner wellness."

DCS 620 - COMMISSIONER ADMINISTRATION. Developing Commissioner program
